The enchanting modern classic from Disney is taking CYT by snowstorm! Frozen Jr. is based on the 2013 animated film, and brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. The show features all of the memorable songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus five new songs written for the Broadway production.

A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen Jr. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen Jr. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart!

Show Notes:

Auditions will take place on Friday, March 6 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM and callbacks will be held by invitation on Saturday, March 7 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Auditions and callbacks will both be held at Galilee South Community Church, located at 6114 S Datura, Littleton, CO 80120. Please bring a prepared song one minute in length as well as a track on your phone or tablet to accompany your audition and a headshot or recent photo. (Please note: Tracks CANNOT be brought on CD, and a capella auditions will not be accepted.) Please also bring or wear shoes for the dance portion of the audition.

Rehearsals will be held on Friday evenings from 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM and Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Galilee South Community Church, located at 6114 S. Datura, Littleton, CO 80120. Rehearsals on the following dates: 3/13, 3/14, 3/20, 3/21, 3/27, 3/28, 4/3, 4/4, 4/17, 4/18, 4/24, 4/25, 5/1, 5/2, 5/8, 5/9, 5/15, and 5/16. Rehearsal on 5/16 will be from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Tech week rehearsals will be at the theater from 4:30-9:00 on the following dates: 5/18, 5/19, 5/20, and 5/21.
Performances will be at at the theater at Colorado's Finest School of Choice on Friday, May 22 at 7:00 PM, Saturday, May 23 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and Sunday, May 24 at 2:00 PM.

*There is a Production Fee of $150 per child, due after auditions and prior to the first rehearsal.

Photo Shoot

Saturday, March 28th 9:00am

There will be a photo shoot on Saturday, March 28 at rehearsal for show headshots. All cast members must wear a plain, black shirt (sleeveless shirts are not acceptable). There will also be a publicity photo shoot the same day for select characters only. You will be notified by the Director if you are participating in this shoot and made aware of any special requirements, such as hair or makeup.

Parent Meeting

Saturday, March 14th 9:00am

The Parent Meeting will be held at Galilee South Community Church, 6114 S. Datura St., Littleton, CO 80120, at 9:00 AM on Saturday, March 14. It will last for approximately 60 minutes and will cover ticket sales, committee assignments, mandatory forms and other important information. There will also be a second Parent Meeting held on Friday, April 17 at 7:30 PM. ***PLEASE NOTE ATTENDANCE BY AT LEAST ONE PARENT AT BOTH OF THESE MEETINGS IS MANDATORY! MISSED PARENT MEETINGS WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL FEE OF $50!***

Anna

Young Anna, Middle Anna, and Anna are all the young Princess of Arendelle at different ages. Filled with a tremendous amount of light, energy, and love, Anna is a hopelessly optimistic extrovert at all ages, but as she grows older, she longs for connection with others, especially her sister, Elsa. Elsa

Kristoff

Kristoff is a hardworking ice harvester. Kristoff has a sarcastic veneer and a rough-around-the-edges exterior that hides a big heart. Taken in by the Hidden Folk when he was young, he loves Pabbie and Bulda dearly, but is a bit of a loner with a reindeer for a best friend- until he meets Anna. Must be a strong actor who can balance a cynical sense of humor with charming banter. Gender: Male; Vocal range top: A3; Vocal range bottom: G2

Olaf

The magical snowman created by Anna and Elsa when they were young. Olaf is endearingly delighted by everything - especially the idea of summer. Goofy and sweet, Olaf should possess a childlike innocence and excellent comic timing. Gender: Male; Vocal range top: D4; Vocal range bottom: F#2

Hans

The ambitious Prince of the Southern Isles and overlooked thirteenth son of a king. Hans constantly strives to find a way to make good and stand out. He boasts an exceedingly charming facade that fools everyone - including Anna - into believing he's Prince Charming, when really he is only after her Kingdom. Must be an actor who can play both sides of this two-faced prince with relish as well as confidently sing the moments of harmony in "Love Is an Open Door." Gender: Male; Vocal range top: B3; Vocal range bottom: G2

Sven

Sven is a reindeer of few words, fiercely loyal pal to Kristoff, and loves giving the ice harvester a hard time. Must be a performer with good comic timing and terrific physical acting skills who can devise a strong movement vocabulary to bring this furry charmer to life. Note: possibility that Sven actor will be operating a large puppet as well as having their own facial expressions and physicality brought to the role. Pabbie

Pabbie and Bulda are the mystical leaders of the Hidden Folk who have a soft spot for "strays." Ever-benevolent, these parental figures want what's best for Kristoff, even if they are a bit misguided in their efforts. Must be amiable performers who will endear themselves to the audience in the crowd- pleaser, "Fixer Upper." Gender: Any

Oaken

An exceedingly cheerful and convivial wandering salesperson and ardent devotee to all things cozy and comfortable. Oaken's "Hygge" is a showstopper, so it must be an actor who can portray the peppy peddler's infectious warmth with flair and good humor. Must be able to do the over-the-top Norwegian accent. Gender: Male

King Agnarr

The warm-hearted ruler of Arendelle is committed to protecting both his family and the townspeople from his eldest daughter's powers. Gender: Male

Queen Iduna

The queen possesses a sense of rightness and kindness that guides her in her protection of her two young girls. A daughter of the Northern Nomads, this queen has the ability to communicate with the Hidden Folk of the mountains and so understands Elsa's powers deeply. Gender: Female

Duke of Weselton

A visiting duke who possesses a huge inferiority complex. A bombastic, overbearing sycophant, Weselton's sole purpose is to hobnob with influencers and royalty. Must be an actor who can portray the narrow-minded naysayer with over-the-top gusto. Gender: Male

Bishop

The bishop officiates the coronation and passing of the crown to Elsa. This spiritual supervisor must communicate to the Townspeople of Arendelle in a serious and formal manner. Gender: Any

Snow Ensemble

The Snow Ensemble is the physical manifestation of Elsa's magic. These dancers will act as snow during many parts of the show, particularly being manipulated by Elsa during "Let It Go." Must be excellent dancers as these roles will endure much physicality and a contemporary form of dance that requires skill and freedom.
