Class Description

Acting without a script? That’s Improv! This class teaches basic improvisational skills as well as perfecting students’ abilities to think on their feet! Students will learn how to create a scene, character, and conflict in a matter of seconds as they master the rules of improvisational acting and experience theater on the edge. Upon completion of this course, students will have experience in the following areas:
  • The basic tenets of improv
  • Thinking creatively and quickly as a team
  • Effectively initiating and navigating the necessary steps involved in creating an improv scene

Justin Langley

I fell in love with the theatre watching my older brothers perform in CYT Chicago. We enjoyed many years together in CYT, both as students and teachers/directors. Theater was a big part of my life in college (where I studied math and music composition – can I get an “amen”?). I currently study apologetics and ethics at Denver Seminary, play a lot of piano, and read a lot of books. My awesome wife puts up with all my drama.
