Class Description

Have you ever been so moved by the performance of a song that you felt like you went on a journey with that character? The element of storytelling through song is what causes that reaction. In this class, explore how to analyze a song's lyrics and even accompaniment to tell a specific moment of the story. Then put it into practice and learn how to sing while incorporating those elements so you are able to move people in a profound way through your next solo!

*PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN ONLINE CLASS! ZOOM INVITES WILL BE SENT TO REGISTERED STUDENTS THE WEEK CLASSES START*

Ms. Jennifer Daiker

Hello! My name is Ms. Jennifer. As a native to Littleton, Colorado, I have the opportunity to be an independent music teacher teaching vocal, acting, public speaking, musical theater, piano, guitar, ukulele, theory and composition in homes around the front-range area as well as teaching choirs and ensembles. I have been teaching since 1984 and have had the pleasure of watching my students compete in vocal nationals, perform in a variety of musicals and events, as well as prepare them for auditions for Broadway, L.A., and singing the National Anthem for professional sporting events. Students have enjoyed successfully performing their own compositions, as well as, moving on into the film industry with their music. Many others have moved on to Los Angeles and New York to perform as a “triple-threat” (singing, acting, and dancing). I have had the pleasure to perform in various musicals, which include Rosie, in “Bye Bye Birdie” and Maria in “The Sound of Music”, as well as Marchellina in the opera “The Marriage of Figaro.” Also, it was very exciting to perform with the Colorado Symphony Chorus and train under professionals such as Maestro Priestman from London and Maestro Wolff from the Colorado Symphony. Working in the professional world of entertainment, and having my own independent training, has given me outstanding experience in vocal, acting, and performance. Also, I have had professional training in the academic world studying under many outstanding musicians and professors gaining three degrees in Music, Psychology, and Business. As a teacher, I hope that I can touch the heart of students of all ages and help them tap into their artistic abilities. Then, give them the tools to be able to reach out as artists to touch the heart of the world around them.
